The Resort City Jurmala congratulates you and invites to the International Festivity of Children and Youth Circus Art «ALLE-Jūrmala» from July 8 to July 11 of this year. The Festivity is organized in a close connection with Riga Circus.
The Program of the Festivity includes:

• Opening of the Festivity on July 8 at 18:00, at Riga Circus, in Riga, at 4 Merkeļa Street;

• Master classes for members of the Festivity, a seminar for managers of studios on July 9 from 11:00 at Riga Circus.

• Gala Festivity on July 9 at 18:00 at Riga Circus, in Riga, at 4 Merkeļa Street.

• Creative activities of all members at Jomas Street Celebration on July 10 in Jūrmala;

• The performance of the best members of competition on July 10 at 19:00 in the tent of touring circus "Alle" in Jūrmala, Dubulti, rewarding winners.

• Creative meetings with specialists and teachers of Circus, entertainment events in Riga and Jūrmala.

  Collectives and Artists of different kinds of circus art genres can participate in the Festivity. The age of the members - from 6 to 25 years.
  Nominations of competitions of the Festivity, the best performance and the best performers are provided in two categories of age: 6-12 years, 13-25 years.
  Winners of the 1st, 2nd and the 3rd places in each nomination will be rewarded with recognition certificates and gifts.
  Applications for the membership of the Festivity are accepted till June 22 of this year.
  Transport charges are covered by members themselves or by all managing organizers.
  Organizers of the Festivity cover the catering expenses for members (except for inhabitants of Riga and Riga region ) during July 8-11 for their own means.
  Registration charge: 5,- EURO per member.
  The Festivity is Supported by State Culture Capital Foundation.

International Circus festival ARENA STARS from 15th to 17th of January, 2010

Clause 1

Riga Circus is the oldest circus open for public in Europe and it has more than 120 years long experience in organizing circus shows. In order to create interest in circus art and promote artist exchange between Latvia and European Union and other countries as well as to enhance mutual understanding and friendship between Latvian and foreign artists, once per two years International Circus festival ARENA STARS is held in Riga. The forthcoming festival ARENA STARS 2010 shall be held from 15th to 17th of January, 2010 (artists arrive starting from 14th of January).

Clause 2

This festival is organized by Riga Circus and union Circus Artists Association and with support from the State Culture Capital Foundation. Organization committee is formed to plan and organize this festival.

Clause 3

In order to participate in the contest program of the festival, it is possible to apply in one of the two categories:

1) Children, youth and amateur circus

2) Professional circus

There is no age limit to participate in the festival but evaluation criteria y of the jury commission will be different depending from the chosen category.

Participants of the festival can apply for the following categories:

1) clown performances; 2) solo performances; 3) duet performances; 4) group performances.

Clause 4
Artists have to cover their travel costs including transportation of their props to and back. However, organization committee may consider possibility to cover travel costs for those performances which organization committee has chosen and has mutually agreed upon. Organizers of this festival cover all living (premises), catering and transport costs in Latvia for all invited artists (except for those who live in Riga).

Clause 5

During the festival, the international circus contest with presence of audience is held. The prizes of this contest are Golden Trapeze, Silver Trapeze and Bronze Trapeze.

Special prizes are given to those performances that are good in one aspect. There are no money prizes. Some of the awarded artists will be invited to show their performance in the solemn Closing Ceremony Show.

Clause 6

Organization committee shall invite prominent persons related to culture field from Latvia and foreign countries to form the jury. Members of jury have the possibility to review and change requirements of the contest before start of the contest. When contest has started, the decision of the jury is final and cannot be changed.

Clause 7

Organization committee reserves the rights to set the entrance fee, adjust the program as necessary. Participants have to observe the performance order, prepare necessary equipment for their performance and look after their animals.

Clause 8

During the contest the organization committee ensures social liability insurance as well as life insurance of the artists during their performance.

Clause 9

Organization committee reserves all rights to broadcast and record performance of the artists in Latvia. During the festival it is forbidden for its artists to give independent shows and receive money for it.

The “Association of Circus Artists” together with the “Allē” summer circus is organising the International Youth Circus Festival “Allē-Jūrmalā!-2006”, which will take place on 15th - 20th June, 2006 in Jūrmalā, at Dubultu Square. The festival is supported by Jūrmala Borough Council Within the tent of “Allē” travelling circus you will see various merry professional performances by Latvian and other international circus artists. All young and old gifted people will be able to learn juggling, ropewalking, clown art and basic magic skills at our workshops assisted by the professional circus artists. Everybody who will be taught can demonstrate their skills in the circus with music and bright lights at the square. We are looking forward to seeing children and the young people of Jūrmalā to come together for creative activities. The organizers of the Festival would also need to find an additional funding for the successful promotion of the Festival (to provide accommodation and meals for young foreign artists, for purchasing necessary materials for creative purposes such as paper, paints, pencils etc.). It is important to supply the memorable gifts for the participants as well. We will appreciate your support very much! 	On January 10, a new subordinate unit of “Circus Artist Association” called “JUGGLER CLUB” has been established. Jugglery with various kinds of things is becoming more and more popular as a spare time activity. It is not a priority only of circus artists anymore. It has been acknowledged that such a concentrating on kind of dalliance, play, eccentric hobby, is one of the best ways to relax between stressful work. Besides, perfection achieving in jugglery trains both muscles and mind. Currently in the world the juggler briefings, clubs, conferences, associations pop-up one by another. Already the first world competition in jugglery has taken place. There have been composed jugglery criteria in order to provide proper evaluation of such competition. World Juggler Association claim to include jugglery as sport discipline in the Olympic Games. This Thursday, February 23 at 16:00 in Riga Circus, the circus artists, students of various studios and simply persons interested in mastering jugglery or those who already can show some tricks of this joyful game, have gathered at the first conference of “Jugglery club” of Latvia.
	On January 14, the festival „New circus of Latvia – 2006”of the best circus artists of the Baltics has taken place in Riga circus where all circus talents of Latvia took a part. This is already fourth festival of such kind and its participants are both – artists of professional and amateur circus studios of Latvia. The previous festivals in 2002, 2003 and 2004 has gained a lot of public’s attention as well as proved that art of Latvia’s circus is at very high level. Now the festival has became more international and young artists from Estonia, Lithuania and Sweden take part in it. The hosts of the festival „New circus of Latvia – 2006” are Riga circus together by Circus Artists Association. The date of the festival has been not chosen by chance as currently our professional artists who give performances in circus in Europe and other places of the world now are in Latvia. During 2005 our artists have been on tour in Sweden, Finland, Switzerland, Belgium, Lithuania, Estonia, Denmark, France... This year the young artists from Daugavpils, Salaspils, Riga, Liepaja and Rundale took a part in the festival as well as artists from Valka which’s circus studio has been established again after its closing after Mudite Kraukle, the manager of previous circus studio has passed away. The festival was attended also by guests from Lithuania and young air-gymnast from Sweden.
	10.06.2005. “CIRCUS ARTISTS ASSOCIATION” has been established The new circus artists association is a social organization with the aim to unite circus artists, studios and most active admirers from Latvia and its neighbouring countries in order to promote development of circus arts, acquiring of new tricks and stunts, professional education as well as help to circus old-timers in social matters and make this art more popular among children and young people.
